‘Death Trap’ a documentary on drug abuse released

Jammu, February 28 (Scoop News)- “Death Trap” a documentary by Ahsan al Sabeel, a Social and Education Trust and Sharaz Sikander Films on the menace of drug abuse today released in a simple but impressive function at Grand Hill, here today.
Former Vice Chancellor Jammu University Prof R D Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion whereas Rtd IGP JK Police Ahafad Ul Mujtaba, member JK Public Service Commission, Parvaiz Malik, Rtd Commissioner Secretary Ghulam Ahmed Khawaja and Sharaz Sikander besides other prominent personality were present during the function.
Speaking on the occasion the chief guest stressed upon adopting a healthy lifestyle and avoid addiction of drugs adding that drug addiction usually leads to drug peddling and the menace perpetuates.
He further said that the enormity of the problem can be gauged from the fact that those seeking help themselves or because of their families only represent the tip of the iceberg and we have a huge hidden population of substance users in the community who do not come to fore for myriad reasons. If a proper policy is not followed to curb this menace, we might lament the loss of a generation.
Giving details about the documentary the founder of the trust Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mohammad Irshad said that this is a complete investigative documentary about the drugs, its causes and how to control over it.
The documentary was conceptualized, directed and edited by a young journalist and film-maker of Poonch Sharaz Sikander.
Sharaz said that this is our sincere effort to do out bit against the menace of drug abuse in our society. The main aim behind the documentary is to aware the young generation about the ill-effect of drug addiction.
