UT Administration Ladakh sanctions grant of ex-gratia relief for death, injury caused to human life on account of man animal conflict cases

Kargil,(Ladakh), May 13 (Scoop News)-The Administration of Union Territory of Ladakh has vide a recent order accorded sanction to the grant of ex-gratia relief on account of death/injury caused to human life by wild animals during man-animal conflict cases.
The rates of ex-gratia relief in case of death has been fixed as Rs 5 lakhs, permanent disability Rs 3 lakhs, grievous injury Rs 1 lakh and in case of minor injury cost to the treatment up to Rs 15 thousand, the order reads.
As per the order issued by the Chief Wildlife Warden, UT Ladakh , the grant of compensation shall be subject to the production of post-mortem report in case of death, certificate in case of grievous injury, partial and permanent disability and prescription slip as well as verification of actual cost of treatment in case of simple injury from the concerned Block Medical Officer, copy of First Information Report (FIR) of incident from Police Department and photographs of killed/injured person(s) duly attested by Police/Medical Officers or Wildlife Warden as the case may be.
The scrutiny of compensation cases duly recommended by the Range Officer concerned shall be conducted by the committee under the chairmanship of the concerned Wildlife Warden comprising of the concerned Accounts Officer, Legal Assistant and Section Officer as members, reads the order.
