EC Syed Abbas takes stock of status of availability of food grains at godowns of FCI, FCS&CA Department, Kargil
Stresses for availability of adequate, quality ration to consumers
Kargil, June 12 (Scoop News)- In order to take stock of the status of the availability of food grains at various godowns of the Food Corporation of India (FCI) and the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Department, Kargil, Executive Councillor for FCS&CA Aga Syed Abbas visited the FCI Godown 1st Kurbathang, PEG Gondmangalpore, rice godowns of FCS&CA Kargil and flour mills at Faroona.
Councillor Thasgam Abdul Rahim, In Charge Assistant Director FCS&CA, Kargil Akbar Ali, Manager FCI Godown 1st Kurbathang Hadi Wazir besides other concerned officers accompanied the EC during the tour.
At FCI Godown 1st Kurbathang, the officers concerned informed EC Syed Abbas that 31000 quintals of rice and 18000 quintals of flour are presently in stock at the godown, adding that proper hygiene and safety standards are maintained there through quality inspection on monthly and quarterly basis.
The officers further informed the EC that ration quota up to mid August has already been made available to the ration stores for issuance to the consumers.
During the visit of the FCI Godown 2nd Khumbathang, the EC was informed that there is adequate quota of food grains available while winter stocking is being in due course of time.
As regards to the requirement of additional godown structures, at Khumbathang, EC Aga Syed Abbas instructed the officers concerned to prepare DPR necessary in this regard so that projection for funds can be made accordingly.
Later, the EC also visited the flour mills at Faroona and stressed the concerned to ensure provision of quality flour to the consumers.
