D&FCO organizes anti- Drug abuse rally in Samba
Samba, September 30 (Scoop News)- To promote Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan, Drugs & Food Control Organisation, Jammu, on Friday organised a Mega awareness rally here. The objective of the awareness programme was to strengthen action and cooperation in achieving a role model society free of Drug Abuse.
Continuing activities under Nasha Mukat Abhiyaan, a symposium and rally was organized in Samba District on Friday to create awareness against this social evil.
Anuradha Gupta, Deputy Commissioner, Samba; Mohd Iqbal Palla, Deputy Drugs Controller, Jammu, Officers of Drugs & Food Control Organisation along with prominent Citizens, NGO’s , Students of Nav Vidhya School, Dhalote, Samba Traders Associations participated in the rally that was taken out from Maharaja Hari Singh Choiwk and after passing through various bazaars and prominent chowks culminated at Sant Ravi Dass Sabha.
The rally was flagged off by Chief Guest, Anuradha Gupta, Deputy Commissioner, Samba and Mohammad Iqbal Palla, Deputy Drugs Controller, Jammu in presence of Rajesh Anguralla, ADC( Kathua/Samba) , Drug Control Officers of Jammu Province, Police Officers of JKP, Presidents of Chemist Associations of Samba, Bari Brahmana, Bishnah , Ghagwal etc
Participants were holding colourful banners and placards in their hands with messages against substance abuse. They raised anti- drug Slogans and pledged to join their hands to eradicate this menace from Society.
The DC Samba, while addressing the participants, appealed the general public to join hands in fighting the menace of substance abuse and eliminate this social evil from the society to make India a Healthy nation.
Mohd Iqbal Palla, Deputy Drugs Controller, Jammu vouched for an urgent attention of Stakeholders towards this issue. He informed that the Government has initiated pro active measures by constituting Divisional Level Monitoring Committees to bring an end to this menace and rehabilitate the affected youth. He appealed to the public in general and students in particular to come forward and become Role Models/Ambassadors to propagate the fight against this social evil from our Society for a progressive Nation.
The Pharma Trade Fraternity was impressed upon to play their role while dispensing the medicines and to ensure that no medicines shall reach the hands of nefarious elements for misuse.
Rajesh Anguralla, ADC (Kathua/Samba) emphasised the need for a coordinated effort in fighting this menace.
