| Only NC can solve people’s problems: Atiqa Jan | | Kick-starts road blacktopping works in Mandi | Mandi, October 03 (Scoop News)-Atiqa Jan District Development Council (DDC) Member Mandi (Poonch) and senior National Conference leader kick-started the works of blacktopping of roads at several places in Mandi area here today. The significant roads on which blacktopping works commenced included Gagrian to Bus Stand Mandi and Bahila to Upper Bahila roads.
While addressing the people, Atiqa Jan said that all these works had been sanctioned in 2014 during Chief Minister Omar Abdullah led National Conference Govt’s tenure in the erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir. However, after the change of guards in governance these works got delayed due to official apathy. But now after strenuous of the NC cadre in the area led by her, the blacktopping work of these areas was sanctioned and commenced. She said that the works in other areas will also be started very soon.
Later, Atiqa Jan also interacted with the people of the area to take stock of their problems and issues. The people of the area mostly complained about the poor condition of roads, power and water supply besides the lack of basic amenities to them in this hilly area. They said that prior to the previous elections the leaders of many political parties visited them to seek votes in their favour and thereafter finding that they have succeeded in getting the votes they disappeared from ground and till date never came back at least to know their problems and to address the same in these remote areas.
After giving them a keen and patient hearing, Ateeqa Jan assured them that she would take up their woes with the concerned authorities and get these addressed at the earliest. She said that the incumbent Govt has miserably failed to provide even the minimum basic amenities to the common people.
Asserting that only National Conference can provide solution to the problems and issues of common people in J&, the DDC member appealed to the people to support National Conference in the impending J&K Assembly polls that are expected to be held any time now.
