| LG presents ‘Swachh Vidhyalaya Puraskar 2021-22’ to Pathseekers International School | | 
Srinagar, October 03 (Scoop News)-The Pathseekers International School, Ramgarh has been conferred with the State/UT Level Award namely the ‘Swachh Vidhyalaya Puraskar 2021-22’.
The award was presented during a glittering function organized on the occasion of 153rd Gandhi Jayanti at Sher-e-Kashmir International Conference Centre here today. His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Sh. Manoj Sinha presented this award to Mrs. Manpreet Kaur, Principal of The Pathseekers International School during the grand function in which a large number of meritorious students and college principals received the awards for their outstanding performances.
The award has been conferred on the school for it’s commitment towards providing best in class infrastructure with sanitation and hygiene practices leading to good health of students, improvement in their attendance, reduction in dropout rate, and better learning outcomes.
While talking to reporters after receiving the award, Mrs. Manpreet Kaur, Principal of The Pathseekers International School, said, “We are extremely happy to have received ‘Swachh Vidhyalaya Puraskar’ 2021-22. Our prime focus at the school has always been the health and wellbeing of our students and one of the ways of ensuring it is by being vigilant and ensuring best-possible water, sanitation and hygiene facilities in schools. We have succeeded in integrating our infrastructure with sanitation and hygiene practices to secure a healthy school environment that protects children from illness and exclusion.”
She added, “I am thankful to my entire team at the school who have been putting in their efforts and energy to maintain the hygiene of the premises and I am highly optimistic about continuing the work for the kids and their parents associated with us.”
It is pertinent to mention here that the Swachh Vidhyalaya Puraskar (SVP) has been instituted by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, to recognize, inspire and celebrate excellence in sanitation and hygiene practice in schools. The purpose of the SVP is to honour schools that have undertaken significant steps towards fulfilling the mandate of the Swachh Vidhyalaya Campaign. SVP is based on IT-enabled assessment of WASH infrastructure, hygienic practices and COVID-19 appropriate behaviour.
