| World AIDS Day commemorated at IUST | |
Awantipora, December 01, (Scoop News)-Syed Mantaqui Memorial College of Nursing and Medical Technology, IUST organized a programme commemorating ‘World AIDS Day’. The event conducted under the theme “Equalize: Achieving equality to ending HIV” was organized in collaboration Jammu & Kashmir Aids Control Society, Department of Health and Medical Education J&K Govt, Jammu and Kashmir Paramedical & Nursing council, Directorate of Internal Quality Assurance IUST, Govt. Polytechnic College Awantipora & Mantaqui Centre for Science and Society, IUST
Ms. Asmat Parveen, Principal SMMCN&MT, IUST, welcomed the participants and talked about discrimination meted out to the people living with AIDS and emphasized how inequality hampers progress in this regard and said the Covid pandemic has exacerbated the problem across the world.
Director DIQA, Prof Fozia Qazi, and Principal Polytechnic College also spoke on the occasion and emphasized on spreading Awareness about AIDS and said that societies have a major responsibility in this regard. The programme was attended by Faculty Staff, scholars, and students.
