| Farooq, Omar greet people on Guru Ravi Dass Jayanti | |
Srinagar, February 04 (Scoop News)- Dr Farooq Abdullah, President J&K National Conference, Member of Parliament Srinagar, Omar Abdullah, Vice President JKNC and Hussain Masoodi Member of Parliament Anantnag have extended warm greetings to people of Jammu and Kashmir on the auspicious occasion of Sri Guru Ravi Dass Jayanti.
Dr Farooq Abdullah, in his greetings, said that Guru Ravidas Ji was one of the greatest saints who espoused the cause of the humanity and worked untiringly to establish peace, harmony and brotherhood in society.
“May his teachings of love, compassion, tolerance and equality inspire us to lead a life of service to humanity” said the former Chief Minister adding that the real tribute to greatest saint would be to carry forward his legacy to the future generations.
Omar Abdullah, in his message, said "Guru Ravidas led a life of faith and devotion. He dedicated himself by giving to humanity, irrespective of caste and creed. His message of love, truth, compassion and religious harmony would be relevant in times to come."
“Let us recall the life and teachings of Guru Ravidas and try to emulate his love for the poor and the needy. On this day, we should also rededicate ourselves to the principles of equality and justice, which were so dear to him,” Omar said.
Haji Ali Mohd Sagar General Secretary, Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamaal Additional General Secretary, Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President Jammu, Nasir Aslam Wani Provincial President Kashmir and Sheikh Bashir Ahmed Provincial Secretary Jammu greeted the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the occasion of Guru Ravidas Jayanti and said the great saint's message of compassion and religious harmony was relevant in the present times.
