Grand Milad conference held at Hazrat Peer Dastgeer shrine
in Sarai payeen, Amira Kadal

Srinagar, March 26 (Scoop News) - Islam propounds brotherhood and harmony and Prophets (SAW) life, his words and deeds are a fair portrayal. The life of Prophet (SAW) is not only a guidance but the only resolution of the problems being faced by muslims in our imperfect times. It is high time that we equip our younger generation with religious knowledge to combat the problems like apostasy, drug abuse, waywardness, female infanticide, sectarian divide etc.
This was stated by the scholars of high learning during a day-long Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) organised in Sarai Payeen by Idara-i-Auqaf Ghousia here today.
The Milad (SAW) conference was addressed by Maulana Ghulam Rasool Hami, Maulana Sajad Ahmad Ishbari, Maulana Bilal Ahmad, Maulana Abdul Qayoom, Maulana Ghulam Jeelani, Maulana Mufti Tariq Ahmad Masbaee, Maulana Ajaz-ul-Haq. These scholars of high learning elaborately threw light on life and mission of Prophet Mohammad (SAW).
The conference commenced at 9 am with Maulood Masood (SAW) which was chaired by Chief Patron, Minhaj-ul-Islam, Maulana Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Naqeeb. Later children of various Darasgahs of the valley participated in Naat Khawani.
The chairman, Idara-i-Auqaf Gousia, Mehraj-ud-Din Buja presented brief account of functioning of Idara-i-Auqaf Gousia. He said that the Idara is providing financial assistance to destitutes and needy without any discrimination, besides, under relief and assistance the people of the state are being provided medicare facilities through Gousia Diagnostic centre. He further said that the Idara-i-Auqaf-i-Gousia is setting up a private educational institute where religious knowledge would be imparted to the students alongwith contemporary courses. Mehraj-ud-Din said that younger generation is being pushed towards the evils like drug abuse and drinking because of lack of proper attention towards them.
Mehraj-ud-Din urged the Muslims of Kashmir in general and scholars in particular to work unitedly.
He further said that the library dedicated to Imam Abu Hanif (RA) in civil lines area would be further expanded. Besides, the Idara is setting up a computer and sewing centre for needy boys and girls in Jeelan Shopping Mall.
Later, Chairman, Choudhary Mehraj-u-Din Buja expressed his gratitude to participating scholars, Naat Khawans, PDD, Commissioner SMC, Police officers and print and electronic media for making the conference a success.
