Mehbooba assures to address grievances of KP migrants
NC always propagate divisive policies
Jammu, April 01(Scoop News) - Flaying ruling National Conference (NC) for propagating divisive policies in the state, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti today said this party (NC) has always created differences between people of Jammu and Kashmir and rest of the country for petty political gains.
Addressing public meetings at Subash Nagar, Bohri and Sainik Colony areas of Jammu city, Ms Mufti regretted that instead of bridging the gap, the NC leadership has always tried to take the people of Jammu and Kashmir away from rest of the country through its deceit tactics.
“Although NC leadership developed their personal relations with rulers at Delhi to remain in power but they (NC leaders) never initiate any sincere effort to take people of Jammu and Kashmir close to their counter parts in other parts of the country”, she said and added that NC leadership was responsible for increasing alienation of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Pointing towards recent results of the elections in five states, PDP chief observed that people were fed up with the old parties and were looking for better alternatives to get their problems solved. She said that victory of Samajwadi Party (SP) in UP and Janta Dal in Bihar was clear example of peoples’ growing interests towards regional parties. She further added that instead of giving ears to hollow slogans, the people are now giving priority to good governance, corruption free administration and transparency in the system.
“PDP led regime in the State has set an example of good governance by providing corruption free administration and transparent system to the people”, she said and reminded the gathering it was only during the regime of PDP that every regions and sub-regions were treated equally.
Addressing the meeting at Bohri in which majority of the gathering was Kashmiri Pandit migrants, PDP chief regretted that habitants of Kashmiri Pandits lack basic amenities. “Since early 90s Kashmiri Pandits have been living in different areas of Jammu but their localities lack basic amenities”, she observed and assured that gathering that her party would effectively take up their problems. She regretted that amount sanctioned under Central sponsored has been lapsed due to non utilization of the same. “Many localities of the city lack basic amenities but funds sanctioned for the same was not utilized”, she expressed surprise and added that in many other areas, where leaders of ruling party have been getting commission in developmental works, liabilities have been created. “This is glaring example of the unequal development in the State”, she said.
Highlighting problems of the Kashmiri migrants, PDP chief reiterated her party’s commitment of creating conductive atmosphere for their honourable return to their native place.
Dr Sameer Koul, in his address, called upon the displaced Kashmiri Pandits to look for better future and forget the past. He said that PDP was the only party which was committed to address problems of the all sections of the society. He reminded the gathering it was only during the regime of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed that many steps were taken to address grievances of the displaced community. He further said that only a leader like the stature of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed can create atmosphere for the honourable return of migrants to their native places. He called upon the displaced people to strengthen hands of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Mehbooba Mufti.
Thakur Balbir Singh, Daman Bhasin, Shanti Devi, Rajinder Singh Manhas, Suresh Sharma, R K Bali, Kunti Devi, Ashok Bhat, Ramesh Koul, Susheela Jamwal, Gurdeep Singh Panday, Somnath Kandi, Goja, Nanaji Bhat, Vinod Mawa and others addressed the meetings.
