KP’s expressed concerned over the failure of JK government

Jammu, August 14 (Scoop News) – Prem Nath Bhatt Memorial Trust today expressed anguish over the failure of the state government to enact law for protection, maintenance and management of Hindu temples in Kashmir valley. As a result of it the religious places of migrant Kashmiri Pandits are being encroached upon and vandalized.
A meeting of the trust held under the Chairmanship of its president, Dr. A N Pandita has expressed strong resentment over Chief Minister Omar Abdullah not fulfilling his promise and assurance to the members of KP’s community that an ordinance will be promulgated by the state governor, to provide for protection of religious places of Kashmiri migrants in Kashmir.
The Chief Minister had held solemn assurance to the apex committee of migrant Kashmiri Pandits, appointed by the government itself that in the first cabinet meeting to be after opening of Darbar at Srinagar, the government will draft ordinance for the purpose and recommend to the governor for promulgation of the same soon. Following it, the state assembly will rectify the ordinance to make it a law. But several meetings of the Cabinet are held since then, but the government has not moved in the matter, the trust has regretted.
It was observed that a strong resentment is brewing among the KP community over government’s apathy towards the deep concern in the community over the matter. PNB Trust which has been appointed unanimously by all the Kashmiri Pandit organization as a nodal body to chalk out line of action to get law enacted for protection and management of Hindu temples and shrines in Kashmir has convened a meeting of all Kashmiri Pandit organizations, opinion leaders and the intellectuals on Sept 2 to draw further line of action and restart the agitation for the purpose, which was suspended after the assurance of the Chief Minister, about four months ago.
