“I am not anti-national”: Mustafa Kamal | | Jammu, November 14 (Scoop News) – National Conference general secretary Dr Mustafa Kamal, brother of Union Minister Farooq Abdullah and uncle of Omar Abdullah,today clarified that he is not anti-national.
Addressing a press conference in Jammu, Dr Mustafa clarifies his stand over anti-national remark said that that he has been wrongly targeted by a section of media. He said, “My comments have been misconstrued by the media. I have been wrongly branded as anti-national.” He told reporters that my history is known to everyone, my family’s legacy and my political career of several decades is testimony of my credentials. Mustafa Kamal said that i had suggested that India and Pakistan must sit together and settle the issue amicably because it effects the people of Jammu and Kashmir. I have great regard for my country India and the Indian National Congress and shall never ever work against the two. It is beyond my comprehension to do so, Mustafa said He further said that Rahul Gandhi and Omar Abdullah have ushered a new chapter in the National Conference and Congress relationship which dates back to Sher-e-Kashmir and Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru and carried forward by Indira Gandhi Ji and Dr. Farooq Abdullah. We all in the family are committed to carry forward this relationship and strengthen the hands of Rahul Gandhi and Omar Abdullah for the betterment of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and in the interest of the Nation,he said. According to Media reports Kamal,claimed that the government was reluctant to sign a 'no-war treaty' with Pakistan while addressing the National Conference workers at Kishtawar on Sunday. ... |
