| Army Jawan dies while foiling Infiltration bid in Neelam Post | |  Jammu, December 26 (Scoop News) – Army Jawan Sepoy Rakesh Kumar dies today while foiling Infiltration bid in Neelam Post. In the exchange of fire, Sepoy Rakesh Kumar was hit by a bullet and succumbed to his injuries at 150 Military Hospital at Rajouri.
Lt Gen DS Hooda, GOC 16 Corps expresses his deepest condolences to the family of Sepoy Rakesh Kumar of Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, who is survived by his wife and a daughter.
It may be mentioned that an Infiltration attempt by a group of suspected terrorists was foiled closed to the LC fence at Neelam Post by the alert army troops deployed on the line of control in Balnoi Sector of Poonch, J&K.
Suspected move was detected by alert army troops Sepoy Rakesh Kumar and his own colleagues in the evening on Sunday, 23 December. The infiltrators’ movements were continuously tracked thereafter by own army troops, and once the group attempted to infiltrate to this side of the line of control, effective fire was brought to bear on them by own troops which resulted in the infiltrators fleeing back across the LC.
