| Kashmiri Pandits Commemorate Homeland Day | |  Jammu, December 28 (Scoop News) –Various Kashmiri Pandit organizations commemorated the “Homeland Day” today to mark the 21st anniversary of Margdarshan It was on this day in 1991 that Kashmiri Pandits passed the historic Margdarshan resolution. Panun Kashmir a body representing Kashmiri Pandits described the resolution as the roadmap for the reversal of the genocide and nationalistic solution to the Kashmir imbroglio.
Reiterating the demand of Homeland, Panun Kashmir said that any attempt to trivialize the genocide and push the community to the servitude of the fundamentalist and separatists will be suicidal for the community and against the national interest. Panun Kashmir warned the centre that ignoring the aspirations of the nationalist forces in the state and succumbing to the blackmail of the sepratists and terrorist regimes will ultimately lead to the secession of the state.
In this connection Panun Kashmir organized a Protest Demonstration today at Jammu.The demonstration was addressed by Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, President-Panun Kashmir, H.L.Chatta, President-ASKPC, D.N.Kissu, non-camp union leader and Virender Raina, National Spokesperson-PK who along with their activists participated in the demonstration. The activists carrying placards and flags raised slogans in favour of ‘Homeland’ and ‘Margdarshan’ resolution. It was on the basis of Margdarshan resolution that the basic tenets of the political struggle of the Kashmiri Pandit community were laid out. The commemoration of this day reaffirms the faith that the community has reposed in the Margdarshan resolution over the years. Those who participated among others included S/Shri Upinder Kaul, R.K.Raina, Prof.G.L.Kaul, Subhash Chatta, Kamal Bagati, Ramesh Kaul, Samir Bhat and Vijay Qazi.
Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, President, Panun Kashmir in his speech said that the time has come to revisit the Homeland resolution as this is the only solution that can address the geo-political aspirations of the displaced community in the backdrop of the ethnic cleansing and genocide that the community has faced in Kashmir
H.L.Chatta, President, ASKPC said that the displaced community is on the roads for the last one year struggling for the enhancement of cash relief to the relief holders. Though the cabinet decision followed by a number of meetings has already given its nod for the enhancement of relief, yet for reasons unknown, the government is politicking on the issue.
D.N.Kissu, Chairman, Non-camp union said that the issues relating to the economic rehabilitation of the community is the fundamental duty of the government.
Virender Raina, National Spokesperson-PK said that the Kashmiri Pandits along with other nationalist forces are systematically and under a design being eased out from the politico-administrative set-up of the state.
