Republic Day celebrated across Jammu region
Jammu,January 26 (Scoop News) – On the occasion of 64th Republic Day celebration in the holy town Katra main function was held at Government Higher Secondary School Katra.
Additional Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB), Dr M K Bhandari, who was the chief guest unfurled the National Flag and took salute at the impressive march past from the contingents drawn from CRPF, JKP, NCC, troupes of both boys and girls and other squad of the town.
Cultural programme was also presented by school children based on patriotism.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest greeted the people on this auspicious day and paid rich tributes to the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the nation.
On the occasion various dignitaries were also honoured which include Son-of-the Soul Nitish Suri who cleared IAS exam in 2012, Additional SP Katra, Mohan Lal for receiving DGP commendation medal for his meritorious and exemplary service-2012 and Shiv Kumar Sharma, President Indian Style Wrestling Association for promoting sports activities besides students of academics, sports and science exhibition were also honoured for securing position in these fields.
Mementos were given to participants of march past, cultural programme and departments.
The Department of Agriculture Jammu celebrated the Republic day at Krishi Bhawan with patriotic fervor and zeal. The programme was organized by J&K Agriculture Employees Association and All J&K Agriculture Officers Welfare Forum. Director Agriculture Jammu Ajay Khajuria who was the chief guest at the occasion hoisted the National Flag. A large number of officers and employees of the Agriculture Department from all over the Jammu Division participated in the function. A colourful cultural programme was presented by the children of Jagriti Mission School and employees of the department.
Speaking at the occasion, Director Agriculture threw light on the importance of the day. He said that everyone should take a pledge on this day to work for the development and prosperity of the nation and make this society free of all evils. He stated that the agriculture is the backbone of the Indian economy and it needs to be given more priority to make our farmers prosperous. He appealed to all to work with great zeal and dedication for betterment of the farming community.
Others who spoke included Deputy Director Trgs. Sudesh Kaul, Asstt. Agri. Chemist R K Bhagat, N A Zargar Chairman AJKOWF, Kuldip Sharma A E O, Uttam Chand and S Amrik Singh President and Gen. Secretary of J&K Agri. Employees Association and Bodh Raj JAEO.
Republic Day 2013 was also celebrated with traditional gaiety and fervour by Jail Staff, CRPF Personal and the jail inmates of the District Jail Jammu.
The Superintendent, District Jail, Jammu greeted and highlighted the importance of the day on the occasion to the participants.
Sweets were distributed among the jail staff, CRPF Personal and the jail inmates and an impressive cultural programme was also presented by the jail staff and CRPF Personal on the occasion.
At Akhnoor, Republic Day-2013 was celebrated at Government Higher Secondary School (Boys) Akhnoor with great enthusiasm in Sub Division Akhnoor.
Sub Divisional Magistrate Akhnoor, Nagendra Singh Jamwal was the chief guest and hoisted the National flag.
Contingents drawn from various schools participated in the March Past. Students also presented cultural items and patriotic songs.
Two freedom fighters namely Atma Ram Sharma and Sahdev Singh and a social worker Sat Paul Saraf were also felicitated on the occasion. Prizes were also distributed among the meritorious students and participants.
Similar functions to celebrate the Republic Day were held at Niabat headquarters Jourian, Pargwal and Khour.
At Pahari Hostel, Republic Day was celebrated at Government Boys, Pahari Hostel Jammu. The warden of the hostel Imtiaz Bandey unfurled the National Flag.
A colourful programme was presented by the hostel inmates.
The Warden of the Hostel presented detail of the Republic Day and remembered the freedom fighters.
He advised the students to work hard for the upliftment of community. Prizes were distributed among the students.
At Basohli, the 64th Republic Day celebrated at Tehsil Basohli where MLA Basohli Mr Jagdish Raj Spolia hoisted the Tricolour at Ram Lila ground, Basohli and took salute from the contingents of students.
A cultural programme on patriotic themes depicting cultural values was also presented.
SDM Basohli, Pran Singh, Tehsildar, other Tehsil level officers and large number of people were present on the occasion.
At Billawar, Government Higher Secondary School Billawar, National Flag was hoisted by SDM Billawar, Dr Vikas Gupta.
On the occasion, march past was presented by students besides a colourful cultural programme large gathering attended the function.
At Tehsil Udhampur, Republic Day function was organized at Tehsil, Sub Division and Niabat level in district Udhampur with great pomp and show, today.
At Chenani, the Republic Day main function was held in the premises of Government Higher Secondary School, Chenani, today.
MLA Chenani, Krishan Chander Bhagat was the chief guest on the occasion who unfurled Tricolour and took salute at the march past presented by the contingents drawn from various schools of the tehsil.
Tehsildar Chenani, S. N. Suman, Tehsil level officers, prominent citizens, teachers, students and people in large number were present to witness the national function.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA while complimenting the people on the auspicious day called upon the people and younger generation in particular to strive hard for the peace and prosperity of their Nation. Colourful cultural programme was also presented by the students which was highly appreciated by the audience present on the occasion.
At Ramnagar, MLA, Ramnagar, Harsh Dev Singh, hoisted the Tricolour at a main function held in the premises of Govt. Higher Secondary School, Ramnagar and took salute at the march past presented by the Police, NCC and students of various educational institutions today.
Tehsildar Agrarian Ramnagar, Tehsil Officers of different departments, prominent citizens, teachers, students and people in large number were present on the occasion.
Complimenting the people, Harsh said that every citizen of India is provided with equal rights under the Constitution of India irrespective of any caste, colour or religion. He also distributed trophies among the participating contingents of March Past and cultural programme.
At BASANTGARH, Republic Day function was organized at Govt. Higher Secondary School, Basantgarh premises in which huge number of people and employees participated.
Sub Divisional Magistrate, Dudu-Basantgarh, Krishan Lal Sharma who was the chief guest on the occasion unfurled the National flag and took salute.
At Majalta, the R- Day function was celebrated with gaiety and patriotism in the premises of Government Higher Secondary School, Majalta where Tehsildar, Majalta, Aamir Choudhary hoisted the National flag and took salute at the march past of contingents drawn from various educational institutions.
On the occasion, a colorful cultural programme was also presented by the school children which was highly liked by the audience.
The 64th Republic Day was celebrated with pomp and show in the premises of Government Middle School, Kail in Educational Zone Majalta of Udhampur district.
The Head Master of the host institution, Sudesh Kumar unfurled the national flag on the day.
Speaking on the occasion, the headmaster highlighted the importance of the day. A colourful cultural programme based on patriotism was also presented by the students.
Similar function was held in the premises of Government Middle School Mohalla Gujjaran in Zone Jib where Head Master of the school Mohd Gulam hoisted the National Flag.
64th Republic Day function was celebrated with gaiety enthusiasm and national spirit in the premises of Government Middle School Lower Maziote in educational zone Udhampur. Large number of local people and students witnessed the cultural programme based on patriotism.
Naib Sarpanch, Rumpti Devi hoisted the National flag on the occasion.
At Gool, Tehsildar, Bashir-Ul-Hasal hoisted the National flag at Govt. Higher Secondary School, Gool premises. Commanding Officer 58 RR was the guest of honour on the occasion. The contingent of Police and educational institutions presented impressive march past and the school children also presented colorful cultural programmes on the occasion. Among others, prominent persons of the area, large number of people were also present on the occasion.
At Panchari, Naib Tehsildar, Panchari hoisted National flag in the premises of Govt. Higher Secondary School, Panchari, where large number of school students and local people were present to witness the function.
