Ensure uniform distribution of ration among consumers: Ramzan
Jammu, March 6 (Scoop News) - Minister for consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, Chouadary Mohammad Ramzan today asked Director CA&PD Jammu to ensure uniform distribution of ration among the consumers of Jammu province as per 2001 census.
The issued the directions at a high level meeting convened on the complaints of non availability of ration at Billawar and Hiranagar constituency.
Minister of State for Cooperative Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma, besides Secretary CA&PD, Mohammad Abass, Director CA&PD Jammu, Mr Parvaze Ahmad Malik, Deputy Director CA&PD and other senior officers of department were present in the meeting.
Mr Ramzan also asked to all Assistant directors to lift full quota every month and ensure distribution of entitled food grains among the consumers as per their ration card. He warned that any officer found lacking in lifting the set quota would face action as per the law.
The minister said that every ration card holder should get 35kgs of ration as the state still receives the ration from the centre as per the 2001 census. He also directed for uniform distribution of sugar among the consumers.
Ramzan asked the Director CA&PD to personally monitor the distribution of ration and convene fortnightly meetings to review stocks and supplies. He also directed for conducting frequent inspections of CA&PD stores to stocks and its further distribution.
