Pakistan should vacate the occupied areas of JK :BJP

Jammu, March 17 (Scoop News) – Jammu and Kashmir state BJP president Jugal Kishore Sharma today demanded that Pakistan should vacate the areas of the J&K state occupied by it in 1947.

"We outrightly reject Pakistan's interference in our internal affairs and as the citizens of the J&K, we demand that Pakistan vacate the areas of the state occupied by it in 1947," Jugal Sharma said while addressing a function organised by “Daughters of Panun Kashmir” on the occasion of 'Herath Samaroh' in Jammu.

He said India should re-consider whether diplomatic relations with Pakistan continue or not.

Jugal Sharma said that the Kashmiri Pandit community has been the torch bearer in the religious-cultural field. The community had to face the worst times because of the wrong policies and follies of the governments. But the community has shown resilience and has contributed to the nationalist cause in all circumstances. BJP shares common nationalist ideals with the community and we will continue our support to the just demands of the Pandits.

President, Panun Kashmir, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo said that the nationalist forces in the state of Jammu and Kashmir have a bounden duty to espouse the thousands years old heritage of the state. The recent political storm created by the execution of Afzal Guru is a serious challenge.
He said that the response of the Parliament of India to the Pakistan’s resolution on Kashmir is a welcome step but the resolution passed by the Parliament of India falls short of meeting the aspirations of the people in India. When the state of Pakistan has gone resolutely to the extent of open support to extremism and terrorism in India, India needs to take all necessary steps to declare Pakistan a terrorist state and the government of Pakistan a rouge government. The international opinion in this regard needs to be taken into confidence and the so-called confidence building measures with Pakistan require to stopped forthwith. Pakistan’s blatant resolution on the Guru issue is tantamount to an open admittance of its abetment to terrorism and terror attack on the Indian Parliament.
The programme of 'Herath Samaroh' was attended by a large number of people from across various sections of the society. Jugal Kishore Sharma, MLA and President of Bhartiya Janta Party was the chief guest on the occasion who inaugurated the programme with lighting of the lamp. The other dignitaries who attended the function included Dr. Ramakant Dubey, President-VHP, Dr. Jitender Singh, Ashok Khajuria, MLA, Surender Mohan Agarwal, Shamsher Singh Jamwal, Shakti Dutt Sharma, Priya Sethi and Ravinder Raina. Smt. Sarojini Kuchroo conducted the proceedings of the function and Meenakshi Raina presented the welcome address. Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, President, Panun Kashmir presented the conclusion speech and the vote of thanks. On the occasion, four prominent activists were presented Honours by the Daughters of Panun Kashmir for their outstanding contribution to the society.
