| Nasir flags off 30 Trekkers to Gangbal | | Srinagar, May 25 (Scoop News) –In continuation of celebrating exuberance of Kashmir Festival, MLA and Former Minister, Mr NasirAslamWani today flagged off a group of 30 Trekkers from Srinagar Tourist Reception Centre to Gangabal. During the 3-days Trekking expedition, the group will not only share experience of the trekking on the ground level but will also enjoy natural beauty from Naranag to Gangabal through walking on Glaciers and lush green forests. This will also promote adventure tourism in the valley. On the occasion, Wani said that Jammu and Kashmir State has a tremendous tourism potential, especially in adventure tourism, rafting, mountaineering, gliding and water sports etc. The former Minister said now the locals are also getting interested in adventure tourism. He said that tourism sector is such a field, which can provide huge employment opportunities to the locals and added that Government is making every effort to provide best possible facilities to the tourists. He said the Valley is presently witnessing a normal temperature and the tourists can avail this opportunity to visit the valley for enjoying the natural beauty. Wani said that there are still a number of beautiful places, which have not been put on the tourist map as yet. Later, the Political Secretary to Chief Minister, Tanveer Sadiq also flagged off a group of 15 Shikara Water Trak in Jehlum in collaboration with association of Kashmir Tour Operators at Perzo Island. On the occasion, he said that in fact it was traditional trak of the valley and it has remained a great business hub of the Srinagar city. He said by using Shikara, the tourists get aware about the traditions and customs besides heritage sites of the valley. Commissioner Secretary, Tourism, Atul Duloo, Joint Director Tourism, Mr Mohammad Husain Mir, President, J&K Mountaineering and Hikking Club, Mohammad Saleem Sheshgher and President of Association of Tour Operators were present - on the occasion.
