| 2557th Birth anniversary of Lord Buddha celebrated in Kargil | |
Kargil,May 25 (Scoop News) – The 2557th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Buddha, a festival known as Vesak (Buddha Purnima or Buddha Jayanti) was celebrated in Kargil with full religious fervor and zeal, like in other parts of the world.
The biggest programme was organized at Dalai Lama Photang, Wakha in which thousands of followers participated from all over Kargil along with media persons and foreign tourists.
The Chief Guest on this Occasion was the Local Head Lama, Lama Geyshes Lharampa Lobzang Gyalson, who started the programme by lighting the Lamp.
Speakers on this occasion threw light on the life and teachings of Lord Buddha and requested the people to follow his path for eternal peace.
The Chief Guest while talking our Correspondent told that if one cannot do good to anyone at least don’t harm anyone and every one in the world should follow these teachings of Lord Buddha to prevail peace and communal Harmony.
It’s a day on which Lord Buddha Got Enlightenment and the same is his death anniversary.
