| Bade Mian so bade miyan Chote Mian..... | |
By Dr. Nirmal Kamal
Ahead of elections in 2014, State ruling alliance, after failing on all fronts, is striving hard to sell something sizzling hot meant for voters while other political parties also seem short of new issues which could persuade public convincingly with overwhelming opinion in their favour. Though JKNPP has been raising issue of delimitation with half hearted approach but other mainstream parties are not giving weightage to issue of delimitation which if taken collective could have corrected the balance of power. BJP though talks loudly about delimitation but has concentrated on day to day burning problems faced by the public. So National Conference in particular, has taken up non issues with chain of concocted fantasies to distract public. It is equally true that UPA-II remained callous and atrocious towards common public throughout during its regime and so BJP as principal opposition party, continued to raise the prime issues of corruption, degradation of economy marked by the price rise and fallen GDP, lawlessness time and again at various levels in and outside the parliament. In the State also BJP workers remained engaged in highlighting people’s concerns by holding agitations, dharnas within the assembly and outside the assembly as well submitting memorandums on the burning problems to the Hon’ble Governor of the State. Simultaneously, Anna and Ramdev along with their supporters awakened general public to fight against corruption as a movement witnessed all over the country. Seeking opinion of opposition on crucial issues is spirit of the democracy but it never suited the vested interests of ruling alliance. So invariably attempts were made to scuttle and malign wise moves of opposition. All this helped expose the true obnoxious arrogant colours of the ruling clout of UPA-II reddened with scams and scams involving ministers, relatives, sons and sons in law, daughters and nephews - all the dotting links well protected by 83 years old CEO of the country who has now lost all the sheen with expending whopping Rs 642 crores on foreign tours during the last 8 years (still retains a clean image). He has converted country’s most responsible job of PM quite irresponsible. The task of a PM is reduced to a mannequin by remaining mum, closed eyes at the cost of lucrative foreign trips most of which could be avoided as PMO is quite high-tech. Unfortunately, this is the country whose No 1 citizen (former President Pratibha Patil) surpassed her predecessors in foreign trips at the expense of State exchequer directing hindustani janta to survive on Rs 24 to Rs 32 a day as per genius genes of Planning Commission. Message is very clear to all the UPA-II constituents-“ Congress hand will always protect you” or ‘protect my family and i will reciprocate”. The model has been very conveniently followed by Omar Abdullah who was chosen by UPA-II to fiddle with the state and fill the coffers of state ministers and everybody who could have access to the UPA Chief or toe the line of Abdullah family and the coterie. Therefore, the State is emboldened by the innovative modes of scams at the Centre and so has not so far taken any cognizance of the matters of crime, unemployment, non implementation of announced recruitment policy, or any other policy which could favour people and non serious attitude of CM towards problems of power and water scarcity particularly in summer zone, rampant corruption so and so that the State still enjoys the status of No1 in the country. Top of it the State ministers keep harping on having achieved development and e governance. No one is attending the grievances of the people as Chief Minister’s Grievances Cell itself has become redundant .Poor Omar was more concerned with the State when he was part of NDA but now he is more concerned with external affairs as CM of the State spending more time twitting and twiddling with ridiculous views containing communal intents as if he is CM of Kashmir. The eventual bottom line is that the public knows the truth and the truth is they want change. The public has become wiser. Befooling public with concocted stories will not serve the purpose. While other leaders of NC are pricking public with obnoxious provocative speeches to disturb communal harmony in this part of the region forgetting that this was Omar Abdullah who had protested over land transfer to SASB by stating that “ek inch zameen bhi nahin denge” in the Parliament and over this he became darling of UPA chairperson who rewarded him high seat of CM of J&K. This historical black statement is reflective of his communal not secular credentials. People have not forgotten Mehbooba’s ‘Muzaffrabad Challo’ and illogical opposition over land transfer issue. Decisions arrived at were to be dispensed by the Shrine Board at the behest of the Government of which NC and Congress are the partners. Infact present government and Shrine Board ditched the members of Sangarsh Samiti—NC leaders should update their knowledge. Instead of raising fingers at BJP, they should ask their bosses in the government who were to fulfil the commitments made to Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangarsh Samiti in the agreement signed on August 31, 2008. Remember this agreement was finalized by S.S. Baloria presently Vice-Chancellor of Central University and representative of Sangarsh Samiti. Provincial President of National Conference should point out this question to Baloria rather than creating fantasies. The agreement of 2008 included withdrawal of cases of youth against whom registered cases could not be substantiated. There are many more queries in the minds of the people which still require answer from the ruling government. 2008 agitation was purely a people’s movement witnessed by the world. By spitting spurious stories, NC should not exploit the sanctity of the Divine Movement of millions who visit the holy shrine and wise public of Jammuites firm believer in communal harmony tested at every crucial juncture. Instead NC leaders owe an explanation that why they maintained studied silence all these years. If they were sincere to the public why they went in hibernation during agitation of 2008 or never ever raised an eyebrow even during 2009 assembly election? or why they never uttered a single word all these years? Answer is very clear ahead of elections 2014, after failing on all the fronts ruling leaders are in search of new issues and therefore are befooling the people of both Jammu & Kashmir regions. Frequent rebuttal on twitters by Bade Mian, Chote Mian has taken charge to save their face and serve their personal ambitions of occupying the highest seats after the doles are distributed to his relatives very close to the heart. Non existent conspiracy! Oh there is no taker of concocted tales.
