| SOS asks CM to reign in his Ministers who are harassing common masses | |  Jammu, June 19 (Scoop News) –Rajiv Chuni Chairman S. O. S. International-An organization for PoK Refugees, has asked the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to reign in his Ministers who are harassing common masses and becoming an accessory to forcibly snatching hapless peoples’ lands and belongings with the help of Police and other government departments by aiding anti-social elements. Rajiv Chuni was addressing a Press confrences today at Jammu Press Club.Highlighting the case of a PoK refugee, Sardar Gurdev Singh son of S. Jaswant Singh of Ajeet Nagar, Upper Gadigarh, Jammu, who has become a victim of anti-socials aided by Former Minister of Relief, Revenue and Rehabilitation and presently Minister for Housing and Culture Raman Bhalla, S. O. S. International Chairman Rajiv Chuni said that Bhalla by misusing his powers as Minister used Jammu Municipal Corporation in encroaching upon the private land of Gurdev Singh. He said that Gurdev Singh, a small time farmer, having a few kanals of agricultural land is feeding a family of 7 including his ailing mother, aged 80 years, who has undergone an operation recently. “The family members including two daughters of Gurdev Singh have become so terrified due to the pressure of the police and the anti-socials at the behest of Minister for Culture Raman Bhalla that they have stopped going to nearby markets alone for daily chorus. Mr. Chuni informed that Gurdev Singh is having a plot of 1 kanal 3 marlas at Ajeet Nagar and Jammu Municipal Corporation in violation of its mandate under the Municipal Act constructed a pucca lane on the private land of Gurdev Singh outside the Municipal land. “The tiles were laid on the land of Gurdev Singh in Village Ajit Nagar, Upper Gadigarh, block Satwari, Tehsil Jammu on the directions of then Minister for Revenue, Relief & Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla vide a D.O. Letter as admitted by the Executive Engineer, JMC Trikuta Complex, Dogra Hall, Jammu No. MJ/13/Tech/T/266-68 dtd. 17/4/2013,” said Chuni adding that the then Minister for Revenue Raman Bhalla knowing fully well the implications of the encroaching upon the private land of a poor farmer being the Revenue Minister forced the Jammu Municipal Corporation to take up the illegal construction of lane outside the limits of Municipal Corporation to please his anti-social cohorts. S. O. S. International Chairman Rajiv Chuni further alleged that as this was not enough, the Satwari Police on the directions of Minister for Culture and Housing Raman Bhalla detained S. Gurdev Singh and kept him in lock up for three days forcing him to agree to the directions of the Minister for foregoing claim over his land and let his illegal directions to the Jammu Municipal Corporation for construction of lane be adhered to. He informed that Satwari Police arrested S. Gurdev Singh under section 36 RPC and inflicted unprecedented torture for three days mentally and physically denying him food and water for three days. “It was at the directions of the Court to conduct his medical examination that the police in a huff, instead of taking Gurdev Singh to GMC hospital took him to Court and admitted him to bail there and then. He informed that Gurdev Singh’s daughter, a student of B. Sc. part III, was also harassed by SHO Satwari and threatened to implicate her and Gurdev Singh in false cases at Doda, Bhaderwah, Ramban and other districts, who approached DIG, Jammu who immediately reprimanded the erring official. Mr. Chuni said that if the Chief Minister failed to rein in his corrupt and unbridled Ministers, they will be forced to approach the UPA Chairperson Smt. Sonia Gandhi for saving the family of poor PoK refugee from the terror of Minister for Culture Raman Bhalla and his anti-social cohorts. S. O. S. International Chairman Rajiv Chuni said that as Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla, a refugee also, instead of becoming an aid for resolution of PoK refugees damaged their cause and became champion of doles for the Valley migrants. He said that Bhalla has forgot the plight of the refugees and himself also as he has amassed a fortune by indulging in corrupt practices and running a virtual mafia. Mr. Chuni declared that S. O. S. International would bring out a “White Paper” on the misdeeds of Raman Bhalla near the election year highlighting his ill doings and hampering the cause of Refugees.
