| ADC, Leh inaugurates a short training course under “ Hunar –Se- Rozgar” | |  Leh,April 5, (Scoop News)- The Additional Deputy Commission, Leh Hassan Khan today inaugurated a 42 days short training course under “ Hunar –Se- Rozgar” programme at Food Craft Institute Takskithang, Leh. The six weeks course will cover basic training in food & Beverage and Housekeeping etc.
Addressing the inaugural function, the ADC, Leh Hassan Khan expressed great happiness for making the newly constructed Food Craft Institute at Leh functional with the launching of “Hunar-Se-Rozgar” programme in this institute and hoped that this institute will prove very beneficial for both Leh and Kargil district in providing job oriented training and courses for unemployed youths of Ladakh. Stressing upon the trainee students to take the short training course with utmost dedication, Hassan Khan said that tourism industry in Ladkah has immense potential to provide dignified jobs to the large number of unemployed youths and urged upon the youths of Ladakh to engage themselves professionally in tourism industry.
Earlier, the CEO, Tourism Development Authority/ Principal, FCI, Leh Urgain Lundup giving detail information about FCI, Leh and Hunar-Se-Rozgar progamme said that the main purpose of the short training course is to give skilled hands to the growing tourism industry of Ladakh. Giving facts and figures about increasing influx of tourists in Ladkah since 1974, Urgain Lundup said that youths of Ladakh has wide-ranging job opportunities in tourism industry and said that in Leh itself there are about 600 hotels/guests houses which can provide thousands of employment to the local youths provided that they are skilled.
The Programme Officer ICDS, Leh Tsering Murup, Dr. Sonam Wangchok of Himalayan Cultural Heritage Foundation, officer and engineers of Tourism department and Assistant Lecturers of FCI, Leh were also present on the occasion.
