| DC Ganderbal flags off Anti Polythene rally | | Ganderbal,April 16, (Scoop News)- To create public awareness about the polythene ban and to make the district polythene free an anti polythene rally was organised in the district Ganderbal today.
The school children of Ganderbal district joined hands with the administration and marched through the markets of Kangan, Lar and Ganderbal to make people aware about the ill-effects of polythene use. The rally was flagged off by the Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal in which over 1000 students of various educational institutions of the district participated. The rally was taken out from mini secretariat compound.
Later, accompanied by senior officers of district administration, Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal conducted a surprise inspection of the market and seized polythene from a various shops.
The Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal directed the concerned officers to take necessary action against the offenders. He also appealed to all the shopkeepers not to use or sell polythene carry bags.
