| Communal polarization for political gains most immoral: Rather | |
Chadoora/ Budgam April 17, (Scoop News)- Asserting that interests of the State are safe in the hands of National Conference, Senior NC leader and Minister for Finance & Ladakh affairs, Abdul Rahim Rather today asked the people not to get caught in the political booby trap laid by opportunist political parties like PDP & BJP. He said National Conference is People’s movement which has a track record of fighting for the rights and honour of the States people.
Addressing a series of election public meetings organised in favour of NC President & Candidate for Srinagar Parliamentary constituency, Dr Farooq Abdullah at GogjiPathri, Kotabal, Bonen & Buzgoo areas of Tehsil Chadoora today, Mr. Rather said that alliance between NC & Congress parties has been forged in the larger interests of the people of the State adding that both the parties have secular credentials and common goal to usher the State to new heights of development and prosperity. He cautioned the people against the growing tendency of communal polarization for the political gains by some political parties like PDP & BJP adding that it was not only immoral but most condemnable. He said desperate attempts are being made to exploit regional and religious sentiments of the people. He said these parties have no agenda except hollow promises and are relying on lie & deceit for their sustenance.
He said communal polarization and sectarian divide is most dangerous for integrity of the society adding that such tactics have no room in a civilized society. He reminded the workers about their crucial role to play against communal and divisive forces and asked them to apprise the people about the programmes & policies of the coalition government and its achievements so that they do not get swayed by the propaganda of PDP & BJP.
Castigating BJP for presenting a communal based election manifesto, Mr. Rather said it has unveiled nefarious designs of this party to create hatred and sectarian divide among the communities. “By promising abrogation of Article 370 and introduction of Uniform civil code, BJP has challenged not only the special status of the J&K but has also threatened communal harmony & integrity of the whole country. BJP’s promise to construct Ram Mandir at the Babri Masjid site with utter disregard yo the sentiments of other communities is aimed at fanning communal divide which will be disastrous for the unity and integrity of the nation”, Mr Rather said and asked the people to defeat this sinister plan with full might.He said BJP & PDP are the two faces of the same coin with sole motto to grab power even at the cost of the country’s integrity.
