Gyalson ridicules Congress’s local manifesto | | Srinagar, April 19, (Scoop News)- Ridiculing the Congress’s local manifesto, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) district president Leh, Tashi Gyalson has said the Congress promise of Union Territory status to Ladakh is constitutionally impossible and it can’t be used as political tool for petty political gains.
He has expressed concern over the way the issue has been used by certain political forces in the region to befool people. He said the people of Ladakh are aware about the nefarious designs of certain politicians who want to divide the state on the regional lines.
Gyalson said the PDP believes that by dividing the state nothing can be achieved and it is only through unity among regions, communities and religions we can lead the state to the peace, development and prosperity. He said it is PDP’s vision to decentralize power so that it cannot only strengthen democracy but will enhance stability on ground and it is with this vision the party empowered institutions like LAHDC in 2002.
He said the opening of borders and all traditional routes across the state will hugely benefit the people of areas like Ladakh and the PDP will strive hard to get its vision implemented.
