Gupta calls for strengthening secular forces

Nagrota , April 23 (Scoop News)- Vice President J&K National Conference Rattan Lal Gupta on Wednesday assailed Peoples Democratic Party for furthering the agenda of Narendra Modi in lust of power, saying divisive politics is detrimental to the State like Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing Kashmiri migrants in Nagrota camp, the Vice President accused the PDP of pursuing opportunistic politics to hoodwink the public opinion for petty political interests.


“They are used to say something in Kashmir, something different in Jammu”, Mr Gupta said while referring to the hidden understanding between the PDP and BJP to polarise the situation. He hoped that the sagacious voters will read between the lines and make best use of their democratic right to strengthen secular forces.


Mr Gupta along with the President of the NC Minority Cell M K Yogi interacted with the migrants and said National Conference was aware about the difficulties they were facing. “While several steps have been taken to mitigate their difficulties, more is required to be done in this regard. He said National Conference has all along stood by the people during difficult times and it will continue to do so, come what may. He referred to the lofty ideals of Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah sand said his cherished slogan of ‘Hindu Muslim Sikh Itehad’ will always remain a guiding force for the party.


The Vice President and Mr Yogi made a fervent appeal to the people to cast their votes for strengthening the secular forces and rejecting those who were generating euphoria on emotive slogans.


Mr Yogi said that the people of the state represented the glorious composite ethos of the state in great measure and this strength has all along been eye sore for those who want to benefit from dividing the people.
