| Info. Deptt. organizes Cultural programme at Kotbalwal jail | | Jammu, April 23, (Scoop News)- The Department of Information organized a cultural programme at Central Jail Kotbalwal today.
On the occasion, DG, Prisons Mr. P L Gupta was the chief Guest while Superintendent of Central Jail Kotbhalwal Mr. Dinesh Sharma presided over the function.
Assistant Surgeon Kotbalwal Jail Dr. Rajinder Kumar, Cultural Officer, Information Department Mr. Raman Joshi and other officers of Police department were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, DG Prisons thanked the Information Department for organizing a wonderful cultural programme for Jail inmates which would help in relieving stress to a greater extent.
Mr. Gupta also requested the Information Department to organize more such programmes in future also.
The artists of Information Department who presented a scintillating cultural programme jointly by J&K Armed Police Orchestra include Vijay Anand, Rakesh Singh Salathia, Vishal Gupta, Kamal Kumar, Bodh Raj, Bunty Kumar, Dr. Chanchal Sharma, Zulikha Farid besides Puneet Kumar, Mangal Singh and Vishal Matoo.
During the 2-hour long cultural programme, renowned artists of J&K Mr. Jia Lal Sharma anchored the programme which was highly applauded by the audience.
Earlier, in his welcome address, Superintendent of Central Jail Kotbhalwal Mr. Dinesh Sharma highlighted the facilities being provided to the jail inmates and also vocational programme in different trades for reformation and rehabilitation of Jail inmates.
