Curfew imposed in Tulmulla after protesters turned violent


Srinagar, July 26, (Scoop News)- Curfew was imposed in Tulmulla area of Ganderbal after protesters turned violent when people protesting against the terror attack on Friday turned violent, the police said on Saturday.

It may be mentioned that Ganderbal police yesterday took cognizance of an incident in the office of ZEO, Tulmulla where some locals spotted a youth later identified as an employee of ZEO office with a girl when the office were closed. A case was registered and the youth was taken into custody.
Police said that Zahoor Ahmad Sheikh son of Mohammad Syed Sheikh resident of Saloora Ganderbal was spotted by some locals with a girl in ZEO Office Tulmulla in the jurisdiction of police station Kheerbawani when the offices were closed on account of holiday.
According to police some people entered into the office and pounced on him and thrashed him mercilessly while the female managed to flee from the spot with the help of some respectable citizens. Agitated mob set his motor cycle (JK01L-2490) on fire. The timely intervention of police saved the accused from the wrath of the violent mob.

The mob tried to set the office building on fire as well, however, police foiled their attempt and they were dispersed. Police registered an FIR vide number 36/2014 against the employee who was caught with the girl.

However, in the evening during the Shab -I-Qadar prayers the Molvi of Mohshar pora Tulamulla incited public using the loudspeaker of the mosque goading them and inciting them against police as to why police saved the life of errant youth. The use of the loudspeaker encouraged and incited people to indulge in more severe stone pelting. The intense stone pelting on police continued till late night.
Further reinforcement were got from Srinagar and the situation came under control.


Meanwhile, the combing operation carried out by army is underway to nab ultras in Sopore area of the state, where terrorist have reported to open fire on a police patrolling team resulting in the killing of one policeman while injuring four others early on Friday. The army has cordoned off the entire area to conduct search operation.
