Sagar asks officers to ensure smooth Eid festivities
Srinagar, July 26, (Scoop News)-The Minister for Rural Development and Panchayats, Ali Mohammad Sagar has said that the officers of different departments should work in a co-ordinated manner and synergize their efforts to ensure that the people do not face any in convenience in view of the ensuing Eid festivities.
The Minister also took a high level meeting of officers of different departments to discuss the arrangements put in place for the smooth celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr in the valley. It was attended by senior officers of the District administration, Police, PHE, PDD, SMC, SRTC and Health.
Sagar asked the Divisional Administration to ensure that the people get the basic amenities, besides making available essentials including rice, sugar, atta, K-oil and LPG cylinders in the valley.
The Minister directed the officers of PDD and PHE for ensuring uninterrupted electricity and water supply, besides asked the authorities of SMC to maintain cleanliness in and around the Mosques and Shrines of the Valley including the Dargah Hazratbal, Chrar-i-Sharif, Jamia Masjid, Mehboob-ul-Alam and Khan-kah-i-Moula, Dastgeer Sahib. He also directed for installation of street lights and the repairs of non-functional street lights in the Srinagar city.
Sagar asked the Transport authorities for smooth transport system. He asked the traffic authorities to provide transport facilities to the people till late hours in the evening and also formulate a comprehensive plan, so that the regulation of the traffic is done in a proper way in order to curb the menace of traffic jams.
The Minister also stressed for intensifying market checking to curb black marketing, profiteering and hoarding to make quality items available in adequate quantity to the consumers on Eid festival.
