| Autonomy, self-rule unacceptable: Jugal | |
Jammu, July 26, (Scoop News)-BJP state president and MP Jugal Kishore Sharma today toured Sunderbani and Kalakot areas of the Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha constituency to express his gratitude to the people who voted overwhelmingly for the BJP and elected him as their representative to the Lok Sabha. Addressing a series of meetings, he reassured the people that he would not leave any stone unturned to come up to their expectations and that he will take up issues concerning them in a big way. He said during the ongoing budget session of the Parliament, he raised the issues concerning refugees, border migrants and victims of the Pakistani anti-India machinations and urged the government to take effective steps so that their lives are secured and their demands met.
“I will not fail the people of Jammu-Poonch parliamentary constituency. The BJP is committed to redress all of their grievances and obtain for them what they deserve in terms of employment, roads, health and education facilities, power, irrigation and infrastructural development. The BJP is also aware of the problems being faced by those working with Kalakot Thermal Power Plant and see to it that things are done as per their needs,” the BJP MP said, and added that he would be visiting these areas quite frequently to monitor the developmental activities and listen to their problems.
Sharma, at the same time, cautioned the people against the devious game plan of the NC, the Congress and the PDP and said it has become imperative to defeat these regressive and communal forces in the upcoming assembly elections. “If J&K is to develop and its people’s socio-economic and political life is to be regenerated, the people have to defeat the NC, the Congress and the PDP and contribute to the BJP’s Mission 44+ so that the BJP forms a genuinely democratic and secular government in the state”. While the NC is demanding a step short of complete independence from India on the ground that J&K is a Muslim-majority state and the Congress is hobnobbing with it, the PDP is demanding the status of nation state for J&K under the garb of its pernicious self-rule demand, he further said. “The PDP is not only demanding India-Pakistan joint control over J&K, but it is also saying that its self-rule doctrine is demanding autonomy from the nation state of India and that its self-rule contains an element of nation state,” he also said. These are communal and divisive demands, which no state worth its name would ever concede, he said, adding that the BJP’s single-point agenda is to integrate the state fully into India and establish democracy in the state so that the people of all the three regions consider them part and parcel of the polity and lead a dignified life as Indian nationals.
Jugal expressed confidence that the patriotic people of Jammu, who have suffered gross discrimination and political neglect at the hands of the NC, the Congress and the PDP during the past 66 years will see the writing on the wall and do all that they could to rid the state of the evil forces represented by these three Kashmir-centric communal parties, like they rejected outright the Congress in the Lok Sabha elections.
