Karbalai Called Union Minister for Textile


Kargil, July 26, (Scoop News)- Asgar Ali Karbalai Chairman/Chief Executive Councilor Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council Kargil and Advocate Mohammad Aamir Executive Councilor (Agri/PWD) Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council Kargil today on the 25th of June met with the Hon’ble Union Minister Sh Santosh Kumar Gangwar at Udyog Bhawan New Delhi.
Santosh Kumar Gangwar Minister of textile (IND),MOS for Parliamentary affairs, Water resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation was appraised about the progress made in Pashmina wool sector with the sanctioning of Pashmina Wool Development in Kargil through central wool development board. Kargil produced 300 Kgs of Pashmina in its first year of implementation of sanctioned project. Asgar Karbalai while highlighting the problems being faced by LAHDC Kargil stressed to modify and include Pashmina goat shelter, health care, increase quantity of nutritional supplement, incentives to rarzi/ chopan and insurance of livestock and breeders.
The minister was briefed about the loss in livestock sector along LOC during Kargil War in 1999.
Minister assured the Chairman that Kargil shall be given its due share from the union Government for development of Pashmina and also link it with adventure tourism.
Secretary to union Government MS Zohra Chatterji was also attending the meeting asked the delegation to float fresh proposal which were already submitted to the Ministry-by LAHDC said Dr Niyaz ul Hassanain District Sheep Husbandry Officer Kargil who was also accompanying with the delegation.
Chairman/CEC LAHDC also appraised the Minister about the loss faced by the people due to flash flood during 2010.Restoration of irrigation canals, agriculture lands, and house buildings. Relaxation in guidelines in implementation of major/minor projects keeping in view very short working session and typical topography were discussed in detail.
The Union Minister not only invited Mr Karbalai after Parliament session but also accepted LAHDCs invitation to visit Kargil shortly.
