DC Baramulla visits Eidgah, prayer places
reviews sanitation, other facilities

Baramulla, July 28, (Scoop News)-In order to facilitate smooth and hassle free Eid prayers across the town, the Deputy Commissioner, Baramulla, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone today visited various Eidgahs across the town and adjoining areas. He specifically oversaw sanitation and cleaning drive being carried out at these places as per the directions he had given to the Municipal authorities few days ago.
The Deputy Commissioner visited the Eidgah e Qadeem at Bhagh i Islam and reviewed the prayer arrangements on the spot. He asked the PHE Department to ensure regular water availability to the people coming for Eid prayers at the venue. He also asked the Municipal authorities to ensure sanitation of roads leading to the Edigah and also asked the Transport Department to ensure Traffic regulation so that people coming to Eidgah don’t face any inconvenience.
At Bagh i Islam, several individuals also met the Deputy Commissioner and brought their problems into his notice. Dr. Lone gave immediate directions for the redressal of these problems.
Dr. Lone also visited Eidgah e Jadeed and College grounds, Khawaja Bagh where Eid prayers would be offered. He gave similar directions and asked the PHE Department to make arrangements for the availability of drinking water at these places. He also asked the Municipal authorities to ensure sanitation at these places and at other prominent spots on the Eid eve.
On the occasion, President, Auqaf e Islamia, Baramulla, Abdul Rehman Shalla briefed the Deputy Commissioner about the arrangements made for Eid prayers by his organisation. He, alongwith his members, thanked Dr. Lone for supervising the arrangements and ensuring convenient organisation of these congregations.
Officers of District administration including J D Planning, A. G. Malik, Municipal Council, several engineering wings accompanied the Deputy Commissioner during the inspection.
Meanwhile Eid prayers at Eidgah e Qadeem would be held at 8.45 am, Eidgah e Jadeed at 8 am and at College grounds Khawaja Bagh at 8.30 am.
