Rajendra holds video conference, takes stock of Eid arrangements
Srinagar, July 28, (Scoop News)-The Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar has asked the police officers to ensure peaceful Eid congregations at all the places across the State. He has also stressed for coordination among the different agencies to ensure peaceful celebrations.
Rajendra was interacting with all District Superintendents of Police, range Deputy Inspectors General of Police during Video Conference from Police Headquarters (PHQ) here this after-noon.
The Conference was held to take stock of the arrangements made on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr. During two hour long video conference, the officers briefed the DGP about the arrangements made on the auspicious occasion in their respective jurisdictions. The DGP was apprised that all preparations have been made with regard to deployment of personnel, coordination among various agencies and communication net-work to ensure peaceful Eid congregations and other functions across the State. He asked to hold joint meetings of senior citizens of the areas to seek peoples’ cooperation for maintaining law and order.
While seeking the reports about the arrangements from the concerned, the DGP asked the officers to make elaborate arrangements for peaceful Eid celebrations at all the places especially the places where Eid prayers are being held. He asked to keep vigil on the activities of anti-social elements in their areas so that their ill designs are curbed.
Expressing his satisfaction over the arrangements made for peaceful celebrations, the DGP stressed that while making police bandubust and other security arrangements, the people should not be put to any inconvenience while to celebrating the festival. He directed the senior functionaries to monitor the arrangements personally and be available at their headquarters so that directions are passed on to the subordinates working in the field as per the situation. He asked the officers to make traffic arrangements in their respective areas so that the people could attend the congregations without any inconvenience.
Recalling the sacrifices the police martyrs in ensuring law and order in the State, Rajendra asked the officers to visit the families of these martyrs and join with them on auspicious occasion and enquire their welfare as at this occasion, they should not feel themselves alone and our company would add them some movements of joy and pleasure, he said.
Among others, the Video Conference was attended by Additional Director General of Police (Armed), S. M Sahai and Inspectors General of Police, A G Mir and Rajesh Kumar.
