LJP for hassle free return rehabilitation of migrants to Kashmir

Jammu, July 28, (Scoop News)-Welcoming the earnestness and revised package by the NDA govt. in the Centre for return, rehabilitation and settlement of Kashmiri migrants in the valley, the J&K Unit of LJP has appealed to all sections of people in Kashmir to create atmosphere conducive for the dignified and secure settlement back of migrants in Kashmir valley.

A meeting of the State Unit of LJP held here today under the chairmanship of its President Sham Lal Gupta observed that the return of Kashmiri migrants and their safe and dignified living in the valley is a must for upholding Kashmiriyat as well as for the national integration. The party has appealed to all that no hassle should be created in implementation of Union Govt.’s program for the return and settlement of migrants in the valley. The composite culture of Kashmir, popularly known as Kashmiriyat is incomplete without all the original inhabitants of Kashmir living there in healthy atmosphere and goodwill among them.

The LJP has, however, said that any return and rehabilitation package of migrants from Kashmir should also be extended to non-Kashmiri Pandits, who had been living for quite long and were engaged in different professions and business activities in Kashmir before the onset of militancy, which forced their exodus from Kashmir. These include many Dogra Hindus, Sikhs and even some Muslims. The party has also demanded that the members of minority communities in Kashmir who did stay put in the valley and did not migrate from there during militancy should also be taken due care of by the Central govt. in their rehabilitation plan.

The others who attended the meeting included Ramesh Lal Bhagat President Dalit Sena, a primary unit of LJP, Ravi Tikoo National Gen Secy. Youth wing of the party, Swarna Devi inchrage women wing, Sartaj Alam, Jagdish Raj and Neha Gupta executive members.
