Kashmira Vahini to organize Women’s conference on the issue of return of KPs
Why GoI not support our UT demand for Homeland

Jammu, July 30 (Scoop News)- Kashmira Vahini , the frontline displaced Kashmiri Pandit women’s organisation has decided to hold a series of corner meetings, contact drive besides a one day Women’s conference shortly in Jammu on the issue of return and rehabilitation of KPs. Taking serious note of the emerging situation in the entire Kashmir valley where forces inimical to the permanent return and rehabilitation of displaced Kashmiri Hindus are permitted to proliferate, It appeals the community members to support the initiative taken by the displaced KP women in this direction.

Addressing a joint press conference by Dr. Khema Kaul, National Spokesperson and Sudesha Kaul Chief Coordinator, Kashmira Vahini strongly condemns the statements issued recently by all the separatist leaders like Syeed Ali Shah Geelani, Shabeer Shah, Omar Faroooq, Yasin Malik, besides Grand Mufti Bashiruddin who even issued a religious Fatwa against the return and rehabilitation of KPs in the Kashmir Valley. It should serve as an eye opener that even the mention of return of Kashmiri Hindus to their homeland is being opposed by one and all in the valley, on one pretext or the other.

It’s an irony that these very forces hounded Kashmiri Pandits, the aborigines of the valley, on the basis of faith by perpetrating religious cleansing by way of intimidations, killings, fear psychosis, threatening, arson and loot.

They also strongly condemns the recent spate of organised violent attacks on Swami Amarnath Yatris by the hooligans who obstructed the yatra, pelted stones, burnt and destroyed over 100 langars at Baltal.

Kashmira Vahini expresses deep anguish over downplaying this communal violence by way of maintaining deafening silence over this incident, by the national media and the political class of the country.

It also condemns the violation of Status quo granted by the Supreme Court over the famous Sun temple Martand with the Active connivance of the Anantnag district administration.
It deplores the recent desecration of holy shrine Khir Bhawani, Kashmir by the mob which was instigated for hours together over the loudspeakers of nearby mosque.

Kashmira Vahini termed it a sinister design where the S.H.O. concerned and other local policemen who instead of taking the miscreant belonging to the Muslim community to police station, took him inside the Khir Bhawani shrine for interrogation as such provoking the hooligans to attack the shrine. The irony is that the law maintaining authorities remained mute spectators.

Kashmira Vahini appeals to the Govt. of India to take realistic view of the ground situation emerged due to new wave of radicalization in Kashmir. It urged that without analysing and evaluating the circumstances that led to the forced exodus of the Kashmiri Pandits from the valley in 1990, any attempt, whatsoever, for the KP return will be futile.

Government of India should accept the KP migration as religious cleansing and genocide, therefore the return and rehabilitation of our community has to be an act of Reversal of our genocide, instead of treating it as a matter of economic help to natural calamity victims.

As a prelude to addressing the return of Kashmiri Pandits, GOI should institute fast track tribunal to punish the killers of hundreds of Kashmiri Hindus who were mercilessly killed in Kashmir.

Kashmira Vahini reiterated its demand for the creation of a centrally administered separate homeland in North and East of River Jhelum in Kashmir for all the 7 lakh KPs. It said if BJP led central govt. is in support of granting UT status for Ladakh, why should not it support our UT demand too.

Among others who were present in the press conference included Kirti Kalla, Sushma Reshi, Gayatri Hashia, Vijaya Saproo, Vijaya Khoda, Nirmala Tickoo, Rajkumari Razdan and Meenakshi Sidha.
