Bhalla, Soz tours Baramulla, inspect fruit mandi
Baramulla ,August 20, (Scoop News)-Minister for Horticulture, Housing, Culture and Youth Services and Sports, Raman Bala accompanied by member Rajya Sabha, Prof. Saifdin Soz today visited various places of Baramulla district and took stock of pace of developmental processes initiated for the development and promotion of horticulture sector.

MLC, Monga, DC, Baramulla, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone, Director Horticulture, P.K. Sharma, Deputy Director Horticulture marketing and planning and other officers accompanied the minister.
Bhalla visited fruit mandi, Kanaspora established at 4.10 crore including land compensation of 44 kanals of and 18 marlas, besides construction of infra structure of two auction platforms out of which one platform has been completed for fruit and vegetable market. He also inspected the pace of progress of the work being held for the upgradation of the mandi. He was informed that as many as 96 available shops are being given among the applicants. He was also informed that the Horticulture Department is in process of acquisition of 26 Kanals of land for expansion of mandi to accommodate remaining eligible applicants for which 2.5 crore have been released by the Government.
The Minister directed for auction of 2nd platform with one and half month. He also instructed Deputy Commissioner, Baramulla to handover the land to the Horticulture Department and settle the compensation of structure in the notified land.
Bhalla while interacting horticulturist said that special focus and thrust has been laid on the development of the horticulture sector which forms one of the measure sectors and contributes in providing the job opportunities and also contributing in the economy of the State. He said several schemes have also been launched for the welfare of horticulturists.
Bhalla also visited housing colony, Baramulla and laid foundation stone of the park He also directed the concerned officers to take necessary work in hand for the upgrading the infrastructure of the housing colony including repairing of lanes, drains, street lights and connecting roads besides face lift of the colony.
