G. A. Mir asks admn to be prompt to address genuine needs of people
Srinagar, August 20, (Scoop News)- Minister for Tourism, Ghulam Ahmad Mir has called upon the administration to be more pro-active to address problems and developmental necessities of the people., adding that the basic objective of conducting extensive tours of remote and backward areas, along with concerned engineers and officers of administration is to take on the spot assessment of the problems of people and seek their immediate solution.
Addressing series of public meetings today at Gawas, Halsidar and Qamar villages in Dooru, the Minister said that providing basic amenities to the people of far off and hilly areas and ensuring equal opportunities of development and justice to all without any favoritism is the sanctified task of present Government.
Mir said “I have been tirelessly endeavoring during last 20 years of my political career to make J&K especially the Dooru constituency a model in terms of development and prosperity”.
In this regard, he listed some landmark achievements of the present Government adding that what could not be done in last many years after independence was accomplished in just 6 years of the present Government.
“Crores of rupees were expended to construct roads and bridges in Dooru constituency alone,” Mir maintained adding that number of multi crore roads projects, mini and major concrete bridges were completed in the constituency during this brief period besides construction of PHE projects, health and power infrastructure as well as expansion and upgradation of higher and job oriented education also received keen attention in the constituency.
Responding to the demands of the people, Mir directed the concerned Officers to implement the works plans in the villages already approved under various Schemes well in time. . He assured the people that their all genuine demands shall be fulfilled without any delay adding that no stone will be left unturned to come up to their expectations.
The Minister said that the new administrative units would be “soon” functional. He said these would go a long way in accelerating the development across the State.
He also referred to the decentralization of powers and said the Dooru constituency has been adequately benefitted in terms of administrative units. He said creation of new administrative units is imperative for giving a fillip to various projects and mitigating the problems of the people.
Mir gave an overview of developmental activities initiated in recent years and said the constituency has significantly benefited by various welfare schemes. “The rhythm of development will get further fillip in the ensuing years and every effort will be made to fulfill the aspirations of the people of all the areas”, he maintained.
