BGSBU hold Board of Research Studies meeting


Rajouri, August 22, (Scoop News)-Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University held meeting of Board of Research Studies (BoRS) in which subject experts from state and outside the state deliberated and suggested various measures for future course of action regarding research.
The meeting was presided over by Vice Chancellor Prof Irshad Ahmed Hamal in which members viz Prof A K Koul, Dean Academic Affairs of BGSB University, Mohammad Rashid Chowdhary Registrar, BGSB University, Prof SD Sharma, Professor in Central University of Jammu, Dr T V Prasad of Andhra Pradesh, Dr Uma Rao, Head of Department, Division of Nematology, Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Dr Anima Langar, Prof Mohammad Asghar, Dean Mathematical Sciences & Engineering, BGSBU, Prof SK Gupta, HoD Department of Management Studies, Dr Shamas Kamal Anjum, HoD Department of Arabic, BGSBU, Suneet Gupta, Special Secretary to Vice Chancellor and Ramesh Pandita, Assistant Librarian BGSBU were present in the meeting.
Members discussed various topics related to the Research in Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University and also discussed in detail on the topics of research scholars. Various research scholars also presented their power point presentation before the Board. Atleast 45 scholars are pursuing Research in various subjects in the University whose progress was accessed and further guidelines were passed on to them to further strengthen research in the institution.
On the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof Irshad Ahmed Hamal said that Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University said that research and higher learning are so deeply interwoven that it is difficult to separate one from the other and with this thing in mind the University initiated research programmes in all its Schools within five years of its inception. He said that today, the University has forty five scholars enrolled in various Schools. He said that many research projects are funded externally by the Ministry of Environment & Forests, the Department of Biotechnology, Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. He added that the findings of our scholars have found acceptability in National as well as International journals.
Vice Chancellor thanked all the participants for their valuable suggestions in strengthening research in Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University. He advised all scholars to concentrate fully on Research and search for new things. He stressed upon building innovative ideas to carry on the research.
