Chief Justice inspects the functioning of Courts at Kulgam | Lok Adalat settles 31 cases at Bijbehara | Anantnag, August 23, (Scoop News)- Chief Justice of J&K High Court, Justice M.M. Kumar today inspected various Courts of district Kulgam. Kumar convened a meeting of Judicial Officers and Lawyers and took stock of functioning of judiciary.
In the meeting, the Chief Justice instructed all the Judicial Officers for settlement of long pending cases pertaining to weaker sections of the society on priority basis. On this occasion, the President of Bar Association Kulgam put forth their demands before the Chief Justice relating to construction of new Court building in Kulgam and adjustment of Additional Judicial Officers. Earlier, the Chief Justice also inspected the proposed site for court building at Kulgam. He directed the constructing agency to speedy work on the building for which the funds have been already released. Kumar assured the Judicial Officers that their genuine demands would be solved on priority basis. Among others, the meeting was attended by the Principal District and Sessions Judge Kulgam S.K. Bhagat, Chief Judicial Magistrate Kulgam Mohammad Ashraf Bhat and Special Mobile Magistrate Kulgam Umesh Sharma. Justice M.M. Kumar was also accompanied by Principal Secretary, Registrar and Joint Registrar J&K High Court.
Lok Adalat settles 31 cases at Bijbehara A Lok Adalat was organized at Court Complex Bijbehara under the Chairmanship of Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Bijbehara, Madan Lal for amicable settlement of cases referred to the Lok Adalat. One bench was constituted which was presided over by Sub judge Bijbehara, Madan Lal, Advocate Khurshed Iman and Advocate Mohammad Amin Dar has also attended the bench as member. As many as 37 electricity cases were taken up during the said Lok Adalat, out of which 31 cases were settled amicably on spot. Officials of Court Members, Bar Association, large number of litigants besides senior citizens of the area were also present on the occasion. ... |
