Successive state governments ignored Jammu region: Vikramaditya

Samba,August 23, (Scoop News)- Charging successive state governments with neglecting Jammu region in all spheres of life, Yuvraj Vikramaditya today said that it was only during the three year tenure of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed that equal treatment was given to Jammu region in field of development and socio-economic growth.
“It is really regrettable and unfortunate that successive governments in Jammu and Kashmir have propagated imbalanced and unequal developmental policies after 1947 which resulted into backwardness and marginalization of Jammu region in socio-economic growth”, Vikramaditya Singh said while addressing a public meeting at Samba in support of party candidate Sunny Sangral.
“For the last 10 days I have been travelling rural and border areas of Jammu region and I am not happy because most of these areas are under-developed”, he said and pointed out that common people have been struggling to get basic amenities like roads, health facilities and drinking water.
It is result of the lopsided developmental policies being adopted by the successive state governments in Jammu and Kashmir, he opined and reminded that gathering that during the tenure of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed a process of balanced development was started and Jammu region got its share in every sphere of life.
“Three year is a very small tenure but Mufti Mohammad Sayeed during had proved how to treat all regions equally”, he observed and said that it was all due to such policies of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed that he has joined PDP.
Assuring that PDP would present an exclusive vision document for the socio-economic growth of the people of Jammu region, Vikramaditya said that he has a vision for the comprehensive growth and development of entire Jammu region. “We have to identify areas which can be explored for tourism and some belts which have the potential of industrial growth”, he said and reiterated his commitment that a comprehensive programme would be formulated for the socio-economic growth of the inhabitants of Kandi belts of Jammu region.
Vikramaditya observed that some industries have been set up in Samba area but locals were not given employment as per the policies formulated by the government. “Locals should be given their share as par the norms established by the government as pre-conditions for setting industry in Jammu and Kashmir”, he demanded.
He said that Samba district has huge potential of religious tourism. “Famous religious centres likes Purmandal and Utterbahni have huge potential to emerge as centres of religious tourism in the North India”, he said and regretted that present dispensation has failed to provide even basic infrastructure. He pointed out that a bridge connecting famous temple of Utterbahani has been damaged but no step has been so far taken to repair the vital bridge.
Terming Samba as land of warriors and sportsmen, Vikramaditya Singh, grandson of Maharaja Hari Singh, expressed his gratitude towards residents of this district for their love, affection and respect for their family. “I am desire that like states of Punjab and Haryana, a comprehensive policy for the sport persons should be formulated in J&K also”, he said.
Cautioning people against evil designs of some forces propagating divisive policies, Vikramaditya said that it was high time to strengthen hands of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed for the over-all growth and development of the State.
Seeking support of the people, he assured that with the blessing and support of common masses he would protect interests of Jammu region.
Earlier, Vikramaditya Singh paid floral tributes to Maharaja Hari Singh at Maharaja Hari Singh Chowk Samba.
On this occasion Lucky Samyal alomgwith his supports joined PDP.
