Special relief camps at Talab Khatikan, Belicharana, Kargil House & Nagrota

Jammu, September 13, (Scoop News)-Assessment Teams constituted by the Deputy Commissioner, Jammu visited respective areas of their jurisdictions for making assessment of damages to property due to flash floods/landslides SDMs Khour, R S Pura and Akhnoor, North & Soudht Jammu and Marh along
with staff and officers/officials of other departments visited affected villages and took stock of the damages and other grievances of the affected persons and made assessment of damages on spot. Free ration has also been distributed to the affected families in R.S. Pura, Suchetgarh, Bishnah, Akhnoor, Khour, Jammu and other affected areas of Jammu District.
Special relief camps have been established where free food and other basic amenities have been provided to the stranded persons .These camps have been set up at Talab Khatikan, Kargil House, Beli Charana and a mobile camp at Nagrota especially for drivers where free food & other facilities are being provided to the affected and stranded persons.
Deputy Commissioner, Jammu directed all the SDMs/Tehsildars to dispose off the cases of damages on priority basis and providing ex-gratia relief to the sufferers immediately out of funds already placed at their disposal. In this regard, Deputy Commissioner has fixed a target of 500 cases of ex-gratia relief to be disposed off by one SDM in one day.

Health Department on the directions of District Administration constituted two mobile units with doctors and medicines who are visiting at least eight villages per day from each block of Jammu district. Anti-malaria sprays are done under the supervision of concerned Block Medical Officer in the areas where water logging persists. Health Department in collaboration with PHE Department are chlorinating water reservoirs by using chlorine tablets. Chlorine tables have also been distributed in the affected periphery areas and have also been provided to ASHAs for judicious use besides additional medical supply has also been provided to each block for meeting out the requirement. Today teams of doctors visited Kot Bhalwal, Mathwar, Ranjan, Gharota, Thathi, Chak Kirpalpur, Jourian, Kot Ghari, Badyal Chak and other areas. Medical Camps were organized at various places of the District where free medical checkup and free medicines have also been provided.
Funds have been released and placed at the disposal of Department concerned with the directions to ensure restoration of public utilities and infrastructure on priority and time schedule has also been fixed for the same.
Officer of PHE, PDD, PWD etc. have been directed to monitor the restoration work personally to meet the dead line fixed in this regard and submit daily progress to the Deputy Commissioner....
