Kavinder, Ch Lal Singh visit flood affected areas
Jammu, September 16, (Scoop News)- BJP State General Secretary & former Mayor Kavinder Gupta, alongwith BJP senior leader & former MP Ch. Lal Singh, conducted extensive tour of Panjer, Saggal, Dubigali, Moongri, Lalli, Kalsot, Ladda, Kothi, Dingidar, Krimchi, Damnot, Malali, Mali, Kandi areas of Udhampur and Reasi districts to have an on the spot assessment of the damages and losses of precious lives due to the recent heavy rains and resultant flash floods.
BJP leaders visited the families who have lost their dear ones, expressed sympathies with them, interacted and sought details of any relief / compensation given to them so far.
Kavinder Gupta, while expressing shock over the tragic incident, said that the entire state of Jammu and Kashmir has suffered huge losses of houses, shops, crops, live stock, school buildings, hospitals, bridges, roads and so on. The life has totally come to a standstill in absence of any road connectivity and means of communication. He said that this natural calamity has caused irreparable losses and in this hour of grief and sorrow the BJP stands with the affected families and assure every possible help in the form of relief material and other urgently needed commodities.
Ch. Lal Singh, who had one to one interaction with a number of families at these places, said that the reported loss of 13 lives and non recovery of about 28 people, whose whereabouts are not known, is indeed very unfortunate. He said that while total losses has been caused to hundreds of families, semi damages too have resulted into sufferings and miseries of the people living in these far flung areas. He said that in absence of adequate staff with the revenue department in particular the immediate relief has not reached the deserving people and as such war footing measures are required to be taken for which the government should deploy more staff. He said that mere claiming that more administrative units have been functional is not enough and the government should depute the new staff as and where it is required. He stressed for constitution of a assessment teams besides immediate restoration of road and communication network/system.
Ch. Lal Singh, who alongwith Kavinder Gupta held meeting with Tehsildar and Naib Tehsildar at Panjer and demanded that revenue authorities should be deputed to the affected areas to assess the losses caused due to full damages, partially damages in Moungri tehsil, which has suffered most losses. He said that the houses of seven families in village Sorap of Panchayat Krimchi, two families of village Kundal have totally got damaged. He further said that in Tehsil Moungri 352 houses spread in 16 villages got fully damaged while 928 houses got partially damaged.
Later, Kavinder Gupta and Ch. Lal Singh also held meeting with the party activists on their return at Udhampur.
Pawan Khajuria, Bhupinder Singh, Mahatam Singh, Sanjit Kumar, Rajiv Gupta accompanied the BJP leaders during their visit to the said areas.
