| CM releases additional 100 cr each to Kashmir, Jammu admns | | Mughal Road thrown open, NH open for one-way traffic |  Jammu, September 16, (Scoop News)- The State Government today placed Rs. 100 crore each for temporary restoration of infrastructure at the disposal of Divisional Commissioners of Jammu and Kashmir, in addition to already released Rs. 100 crore each.
The multi-disciplinary teams constituted to assess the flood losses are also working actively besides dewatering pumps have been installed at various places to drain out stagnant flood water from the Srinagar city.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who is continuously monitoring the relief and rehabilitation operation, directed for close coordination between the critical departments of SMC, Flood Control, UEED, ERA and Fire and Emergency Services for ensuring speedy relief and rehabilitation of flood victims.
He also directed to go for even controlled cuts to drain out the stagnant water besides deploying maximum dewatering pumps.
The Chief Minister asked the Chief Secretary to streamline the mechanism of loss assessment. He appealed the insurance companies to depute their teams immediately to flood affected areas to settle the claims.
The meeting was told that Mughal Road has been thrown open for all types of traffic and one-way traffic has also been resumed on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway, besides, rail service has been resumed from Budgam to Baramullah and steps are being taken to open up the track upto Banihal also.
It was informed that 100 ton of food grains have been rushed to Srinagar and Budgam Districts during last two days by the CAPD besides 400 ton and 150 ton food grains have been distributed in Anantnag, Pulwama and adjoining areas respectively. About, 162 LPG trucks have also been made available in Srinagar and adjacent areas in the last two days and work is on to replenish the petrol supply in the valley.
Nearly, 40 lakh chlorine tablets have reached the Valley and the Chief Minister directed that these tablets should be distributed alongwith the relief material through CAPD, NDRF and other teams to all places. Likewise, nine lakh chlorine tablets have already been distributed in the flood affected areas.
The meeting was apprised that Bone and Joint Hospital Barzulla, Rainwara Hospital and SKIMS Soura have resumed their functioning. The SKIMS Bermina which is inundated so far will be made partially functional in couple of days after draining out the water for which efforts have already been started.
