Kashmira Singh calls for regulating prices of vegetables, essentials
Jammu,September 23, (Scoop News)-Expressing concern over rising prices of essentials, State vice President National Conference Th Kashmira Singh on Tuesday sought strict vigilance in markets by flying squads and fixation of prices by the concerned department.
In a statement, the State Vice President stressed the need for intensifying market checking to thwart the attempts of unscrupulous vendors indulging in profiteering and overcharging. He also called for interaction between governmental agencies and associations of the vegetable sellers for strict adherence of rates being fixed from time to time. He also urged the controlling department to monitor the availability of vegetables on daily basis so that the consumers do not face problems in getting quality vegetables. “It is important as the rising prices across the country have already affected the people of Jammu and Kashmir”, he added.
Th Kashmira Singh hoped that the government will take all necessary measures in ensuring availability of all essential commodities especially the vegetables on reasonable rates and if need be encourage procurement of vegetable from the neighbouring states to meet the needs and control the prices.
Meanwhile T.S Tony contesting candidate of National Conference from Schetgarh distributed relief material and ration to the flood effected people of Badyal Brahmna in Suchetgarh in which about 650 families were given ration kits. The relief was brought by Vishaldeep Battu President and Jagatdeep Singh Vice President of Anti Corrutpion and Human Rights Protection Jammu . Tarseem Lal Sharma Sarpanch of Badyal Brahmna was also present while distribution of the ration .
Tony assured the people of the flood hit area that due compensation of their losses and other relief material , ration etc which the state government has announced will be given to them .They appealed to the revenue authorities that Proper assessment of the losses to be made earliest so that the proper distribution of the relief material may also be made to the flood effected areas at their earliest . The people of the area shown them their fully damaged houses , agriculture crops, damaged roads, School building , electricity transformers etc.
