Lal Chowk traders share their agony with Mirwaiz

Srinagar, September 23, (Scoop News)_Terming the local resources available as too meager to deal with wide spread destruction and damage inflicted to economic infrastructure in the state by the ravaging floods, APHC leader, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Tuesday said that international aid should be allowed to provide succor to people and help rebuild the damaged infrastructure and residential houses.

Visiting the flood hit people at Lal Chowk, Abi Guzar Nowgam, Kanehama and other places, he expressed his complete solidarity with the affected people.

He also offered his heartfelt condolence for the loss of the lives and property of people.

Distributing relief material among the victims in these areas, Mirwaiz urged the
people to show a united face in view of the flood catastrophe.

He said that people should help each other for rebuilding Kashmir since everybody has been affected in Kashmir due to floods in one way or the other.

Mirwaiz also met Lal chowk traders federation delegation during his visit who apprised him about the damaged caused by the floods.

They informed him that not a single government official has visited them to assess the scale of damage to their businesses caused by floods.

Conveying his sympathy with the traders, APHC leader said that it was highly unfortunate that government has remained insensitive to restore the business activities in Lal chowk by dewatering the markets and compensating the affected people.

He said that such callousness was reflecting the anti-people policy adopted by the state authorities.
