Dhanwantari Jayanti celebrated at Ayurvedic Hospital
Jammu, October 21, (Scoop News)- Dhanwantari Jayanti was celebrated at Government Ayurvedic Hospital, Jammu with great zeal and enthusiasm.
The programme was organized by Government Ayurvedic Hospital, Jammu under the guidance of Director General Indian Systems of Medicine J&K, Dr Abdul Kabir Dar.
In his message, Dr. Dar expressed gratitude towards the state cabinet for sanctioning 87 ISM dispensaries along with staff for the first time in the history of ISM. He also conveyed special thanks to Minister for Health and Medical Education Taj Mohi-ud-din and Commissioner Secretary Health and Medical Education Ganzaffar Hussain for their serious efforts in this achievement.
He also appreciated Rogi Kalyan Samiti Government Ayurvedic Hospital Jammu for taking significant decisions and implementing the same in letter and spirit. He thanked the Chairman R.K.S. M.L.A. Jammu East Ashok Khajuria for providing a Maruti eco ambulance from his constituency Development Fund (CDF).
He highlighted the achievements of the department for performing extra ordinary duties in the flood torn state, in which a total of 1, 37,000 patients were examined and provided free of cost medicines in Kashmir province. Besides, the doctors and para-medical staff visited the flood affected areas on boats, trucks and personal vehicles and it was the first time that floating camps were organized in the valley. He added that the team from I.S.M. department was the first who could enter the submerged Civil Secretariat and distributed free of cost medicines to the needy employees. In Jammu province also the Hospital, under hospital outreach programme, provided free examination and medicine to the 20,000 flood affected people.
DG ISM congratulated and wished happy and prosperous Dhanwantri Jayanti and Diwali to people of the state.
The function was attended by Deputy Director, ISM, Jammu, Assistant Controller of Stores, Jammu, All Assistant District Medical Officers, Senior Medical Officers, Medical Officers and Para Medical Staff of different Districts. The function was also attended by various retired Officers/ Officials of the department.
Earlier, hawan and pooja was performed in the hospital premises.
