Bhalla dedicates 6.30 cr Teacher’s Bhawan to Teaching Community
Jammu, October 21, (Scoop News)-Minister for Housing, Horticulture, Culture, Youth Services and Sports Raman Bhalla today dedicated Rs. 6.30 crore Teacher’s Bhawan to Teaching Community at Government Girls High School Gandhi Nagar.
Managing Director Jammu and Kashmir Housing Board (JKHB) Ram Paul Sharma besides other senior officers of JKHB were present on the occasion.
Interacting with the Teaching Community, Bhalla said that the Teacher’s Bhawan has been constructed on 10902 sft area having 28 numbers two bedded rooms with bathroom, 13 three bedded room, 2 dormitory, dining hall, kitchen, office, store, cook room, guest room and reception office.
The Minister said that with the inauguration of Teacher’s Bhawan, the teachers’ trainings and exhibitions would be held in the complex.
Bhalla complimented the JKHB in completing the State-of-Art complex within stipulated time frame. He said creating this facility for the Teaching Community is a part of a larger plan under which various community and association Bhawans are being constructed such as Kissan Bhawan, Engineering Bhawan, Haj House and Yatri Bhawan.
The Minister said that the 109-beded Teacher Bhawan would provide free accommodation to teachers who visit Jammu from other districts for official work.
Later, Bhalla also inspected 500-seating capacity air conditioned auditorium at Gandhi Nagar, to be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 6.70 crore by JKHB.
He asked the JKHB to complete the project within one month so that the facility could be dedicated to the students for arranging their extra-curricular activities.
The Minister said that promotion of culture and art has received focused attention of the Government, adding that all other cultural centres would be modernized and equipped with high-tech audio-visual systems in a phased manner across the state.
