Governor,CM,Others greet people on Diwali
Let us dedicate Diwali to flood, shelling affected: Omar
Srinagar/Jammu, October 22, (Scoop News)- N. N. Vohra, Governor Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand, Leader of Opposition (LOP) in Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Patron of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and president of PDP Mehbooba Mufti and Others greet people on Diwali.

N. N. Vohra, Governor Jammu and Kashmir, has extended warm greetings to the people on Diwali, the festival of lights, and hoped that this auspicious occasion would be a harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity in the State.

In his message of felicitations, the Governor observed that this festival symbolizes the triumph of truth and righteousness over falsehood and of good over evil, highlighting the high values and ethos of the country’s civilizational history.
The Governor hoped that the festival would further strengthen the bonds of communal harmony, brotherhood, amity, tranquility and secularism, which are the hallmarks of our glorious composite cultural traditions. On this occasion, he prayed for the well-being of the people of the State.


Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah in his Diwali message has urged people to celebrate Diwali with simplicity and keeping in mind the plight of sufferers of devastating flood and miseries of border shelling affected families.

The Chief Minister called for dedicating this year’s Diwali to the flood sufferers and the sufferers of border shelling population. He asked the people to contribute greatly for the rehabilitation and welfare of affected families.

Omar Abdullah prayed for peace, development and prosperity of the State and its people.


Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand has greeted the people on the auspicious occasion Diwali.
In a message of felicitation, the Deputy Chief Minister said the festival of lights symbolizes triumph of truth and righteousness. The joy of festival is shared by people of diverse faiths, thus strengthening bonds of love and brotherhood in the society, he added.
Calling for celebrating the festival with simplicity, he said the state has gone through tough times in recent past and sufferings of those who have been affected should not be forgotten.

Patron of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and president of PDP Mehbooba Mufti have greeted people on the auspicious occasion of festival of Diwali.
In a joint greeting message PDP leaders extended their warm greetings and good wishes to the people of the State on the auspicious and joyous occasion of Diwali – the festival of lights.
PDP leaders said Diwali symbolizes the elimination of all negative forces that impede our progress. “May the glow of Diwali fills the lives of our people with happiness and prosperity”, PDP leaders stated in their message.
Greeting people on the this auspicious occasion, PDP leaders further said Diwali also symbolises the triumph of good over evil, of light over darkness, of truth over untruth. “May the noble ideals of the festival prevail and usher in peace, prosperity and happiness in our lives,” they stated. “May the festival of lights be the harbinger of joy, prosperity and peace in the State of Jammu and Kashmir”, PDP leaders said.
Keeping in view the lost of precious human lives in the recent floods, PDP leaders urged the people to celebrate this festival with simplicity to dedicate this festival to suffers.


Leader of Opposition (LOP) in Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad extended warm greetings to the people on the auspicious occasion of Diwali, the festival of lights.

In a message, Azad said the festival symbolizes the victory of good over evil and truth over falsehood. It underscores high values and the ethos of India’s great civilization. He said the feelings of warmth, love and joys which mark the celebratings of the festival adds colour to our composite heritage and promote amity and brotherhood.

He said that Diwali symbolised the elimination of all negative forces that impede our progress.

Congress Senior Leader J&K and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori also extended Diwali greetings to the people of the state and hoped that the festival would be a harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity.

In his message, the MLA Inderwal observed that the festival stood for the triumph of truth over falsehood and of good over evil, highlighting the high values and ethos of Indian civilization.

Saroori hoped that the festival of lights would further strengthen the bonds of communal harmony, brotherhood, amity, tranquillity and secularism and prayed for the well-being of the people of the state.

Meanwhile Congress leader who shared their greetings include Captain Jagdish, Bidya Lal, Mahinder Singh Parihar, Jai Dev, Ramesh Kumar, Sharwan Singh, Pershant Bhandari, Som Nath, Daleep Kumar, Hens Raj, Kailash Chander, Ved Prakash, Hari Ram, Chaman Lal, Piyaray Lal Sharma, Santosh Kumar, Roshan Lal, Satish Kumar, Rattan Lal, Om Prakash Shan, Raj Kumar, Yog Raj, Ragu Nath, Kajal Badyal, Urmila Devi, Parvati Devi, Ravi Kumar, Raj Kumar Badyal, Baby Chand, Madan Bhandari, Suman Pratab Singh, Randeep Bhandari, and all the Congress Leaders, workers, Youth Congress, Sarpanches, Panches have also wished all the Hindus on the eve of Diwali.
