NC urges Modi for Comprehensive Relief Package

Srinagar, October 23, (Scoop News)- The J&K National Conference has urged the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Sanction a Comprehensive Relief Package for the rehabilitation of the flood victims and help the state government to ensure that flood affected people of the state get back to their normal life and livelihood.

The National Conference delegation comprising of Provincial Presidents Devender Singh Rana and Nasir Aslam Wani, Deputy Chairman J&K Legislative Council Javed Rana, MLAs Thakur Rachpal Singh and Javed Dar and MLC Abdul Majeed appreciated the gesture of the Prime Minister to be in the state on the auspicious occasion of Deepawali to share the agony of the people of the state as also to provide the succor and relief in this hour when people are battling unprecedented natural tragedy.

The National Conference delegation urged the Prime Minister to consider the following;
Sanction of State Government recommended Relief Package of Rs. 44000 crores for the Relief and Rehabilitation of flood victims and Rebuilding of Damaged Infrastructure particularly in the Health and Education sector.
Income Tax Holiday for 10 years for the state.
Special package for promotion / revival of Tourism in the State.
Sanction a package for Rehabilitation of Border Migrants and Central Assistance for providing them Safe Shelters.
Construction of Community Bunkers across the LoC and the IB.
Package for the Revival of livelihood through the process of incentivizing Horticulture, Tourism, Handicrafts and Agriculture , Industry , Trade and Commerce in the State.
Re-engagement of 8000 NYC volunteers who have provided great service in flood relief operation as flood volunteers.
Special package of recruitment of unemployed youth of the state and Special Recruitment Drive by CPMFs, Army and other Central government agencies.
Initiation of Skill Development Programmes in the State which are job linked in coordination with India Inc.

Later the delegation expressed the hope that the Prime Minister will favourably consider the demands put forth as this shall go a long way in the welfare of the people of the State.
