| DEO Kargil Conducted Press Conference | | 
Kargil,October 27, (Scoop News)- Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Mohammad Sadiq Sheikh who is also the District Election Officer Kargil has said Elections for the J&K legislative assembly have been announced by the Election Commission of India and the schedule of elections for district Kargil consisting of two constituencies- Kargil and Zanskar has been issued.
Addressing a press conference here today, the District Election Officer briefing that according to the schedule the notification for filling the nominations of election would be issued on October 28, last date of filling of nomination is November 05, scrutiny of nominations will take place on November 07, the last date of withdrawal of candidature is November 10, and the day of Polling of Kargil and Zanskar constituencies is November 25.
Sadiq Sheikh directed the officers related to the election process to strictly adhere to the directions issued by the Election Commission of India, adding that the officers will implement the instructions in letter and spirit. Violation of any such directions will not be tolerated and strict action will be taken against the violators, he said.
He also requested the Political Parties and all those involved in the Election Process to help the District Election Authority to conduct the Election Peacefully as done during the Lok Sabha and anyone found violating the Model Code of Conduct, Strict action will be taken against those according to the guidelines of the Election Commission of India.
